House viewing checklist for France
Use this checklist before and during a French property viewing. The linked scorecard turns the list into saved scores, notes, photos and a report.
Before the viewing
- Save the location, agent name and asking price.
- Ask whether the diagnostic file and DPE are available.
- Check travel time to shops, healthcare, airports and stations.
Outside checks
- Roof line, chimney, gutters and ground levels.
- Wall cracks, damp marks, boundaries and access.
- Outbuildings, trees, garden workload and water run-off.
Inside checks
- Smells, damp, ventilation, windows and insulation clues.
- Fuse board, wiring, plumbing and heating age.
- Stairs, layout, light, storage and long-term comfort.
